ANKARA - Former Turkish President Suleyman Demirel, died at Guven Hospital, Ankara, today. He died at the age of 88 years.
As reported by The New York Times , Wednesday (17/06/2015), Demirel notoriously dominate politics in Turkey. Evidently, he served as Prime Minister of Turkey as much as seven times.
However, during his leadership that lasted half a century, Turkey experienced economic hardship, violence and military power.
After serving as Prime Minister seven times, Demirel became the ninth President of Turkey's seat on May 16, 1993. He held the position until May 16, 2000.
After retiring from politics, Demirel more involved as a panelist and speaker at a number of campuses in Turkey. (Okezone.com)
